KBC Season 12 – Big B Trolled Over Question Regarding Manusmriti

India’s popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati season 12 is hitting the ground as always. All episodes were going smooth unless the problem arose that Amitabh Bachchan asked a question in the Karamveer episode, related to Manusmriti. The question for Rs 6, 40,000 and was "On 25 December 1927, Dr. BR Ambedkar and his followers burned copies of which scripture?" The available options were:

KBC WhatsApp winner

a) Vishnu Purana

b) Bhagavad Gita

c) Rigdev

d) Manusmriti.

The right answer was Manusmriti.

Host Amitabh Bachchan and show makers are in trouble for this question asked during Friday’s episode. An FIR has also been filed against the whole team in Lucknow. In response to this trending news, Big B has been trolled on Twitter throughout the day. The senior actor’s name trended after a section of netizens targeted him saying he has humiliated Hindus by asking a question about burning Manusmriti in the show.

A user tweeted “It is a shame for Amitabh Bachchan who is only concerned for his income, can make different questions on KBC but prefer to be controversial questions.” Another user posted “Amitabh Bachchan has reached this level due to Hindus, and he doesn't leave any chance to humiliate this Hindu religion. We do not blame him, but we gave him everything.”

Explaining the answer, Amitabh Bachchan said that in 1927, Ambedkar condemned the ancient Hindu text Manusmriti and also burned copies of it to prove a point against the caste system. However, it did not go well with the social media users and they started trolling #BoycottKBC after the video went viral on the Internet.

After this, a section of netizens also came out in the support of Amitabh Bachchan. Someone shared, “I don’t understand why there is an FIR against Amitabh Bachchan. It is just something that happened in the past and they asked a question on it”

KBC lucky draw winner

“Why Amitabh Bachchan? If you want to file FIR then do it on the person who gives questions” posted another user. Whereas, some people said that it all might be for publicity to increase the show TRP.
